Monogram: ASD

Back in the day it was common to find embroidered monograms on the inside linings of outdoor coats and jackets.

We started with Frame C from Monogram Frames Set 5. It's a triangle frame with thin satin stitch elements, including small accent triangles.

A three letter monogram, from Triangle 4, A (left) S (right) and D (center) that was a bit curvy seemed a good fit. In order to accent the D (last name initial) we made it a different color.

The overall size is 3 1/2" (89mm) tall by 3 7/8" (99mm) wide.

How we made these monograms

Embroidery software programs make it easy to delete elements, copy and paste elements from other designs, resize different aspects, and merge elements together into one new design. Each program is a bit different in how the Edit functions are managed. Once you have learned to use yours, creating new monograms from other monogram parts is creative and fun. Experiment with different arrangements and colors.
